Rules and regulations for UTR Indycar Series and UTR Indylights Series
Pre event:
Drivers competiting will be given 15 minutes to join the race lobby to get ready for qaulifying. Any driver who misses the grid up will forfeit qaulifying but be allowed to compete in the race from the back of the grid.
Qaulifying:
Drivers will complete a 15 minute qaulfying session, here their fastest lap will determine their place on the grid for the main event. Only 'clean' laps will be valid and at the end of the session, any with a '!' lap will be held where the game says they have qaulified. at the end of the session.
In Indycar we host one qaulifying lobby on Sunday before the race. Drivers will set their fastest lap setting them up for the sprint race.
The feature race will be a random grid, so no qualifying session.
For oval races the same format will run for qualifying.
Pre race:
After qaulifying, there will be a 2 minute break before heading to the track for the main race.
The race:
As Forza doesn't allow the host to determine the grid ordering via selecting who won the previous 'race', the opening lap will be used to safely place everyone into their position. To do this the field will set off slowly from their starting positions and the host will instruct drivers of where they will start. Once drivers are in their correct positions, they will continue around the circuit until they reach the final straight/2nd to last corner. Here the pole man MUST slow to 80mph(100mph on ovals) and begin to bunch the field up for the rolling start.
If a driver is spun out close to the starting line the involved drivers can call a second rolling lap.
After the race:
After the race the final result will be noted down and the points for both chamionships will be calculated. Incase of any penalties handed out by the stewards, these standings will be unoffcial for 2 days.
Contact:
Drivers must take it upon themselves to give eachother racing room when passing or defending. Contact will be judged on both drivers and whether one or the other was to blame in the sitation. Any avoidable contact will be penalised through their championship points. If a crash involves more than one driver then the diver who caused the incident, eg.moving across or dive bombing, will also be penalised but in a harsher manner.
*Any retaliationary contact will result in huge penalties. You have been warned.
** To record the new Xbox One allows players to use the inbuilt DVR to record cips. Any contact should be recorded and stewards informed as the footage can be checked over.Same applies to drivers using any kind of recording device. A link to a youtube video of it, uploaded to dropbox, or any other means will be accepted.
Returning to the track after an incident:
If a driver is involved in an incident ahead of the field then they must either wait to rejoin or use the available safer run off areas to return to the track with some sort of speed to allow other drivers to leave room for them returning.
Team commitments:
Drivers at the start of each season will need to pick a teammate, after that they will be contractually bound to that team for the duration of the season. If a driver leaves mid season then the driver without a teammate can only 'hire' another solo driver or someone not already commited to Indycar. Drivers are allowed to run as a solo team, but will not be competiive in the teams title.
Driver communication:
During the race things might get a little heated and there may be the odd word. But at UTR we have a strict rule on verbal abuse and will re-iterate this during the race if this occurs. If it persists then you should expect a tough penalty and in extreme circumstances, be thrown out of the league. We are all here to race, so lets keep it friendly.
